Are Pelvic Flooring Excercises Helpful?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have read that pelvic flooring exercises are really helpful for endometriosis. Would you reccomend them or any other form of exercise?

Pelvic floor therapy can be very helpful, but what exercises one should do is really individualized because the pelvic floor issues are so different for everyone. Personally, I found that strengthening my glutes and core through general physical therapy was very helpful in alleviating a lot of my back pain. I really like strength training. You'll want to avoid exercises that shorten your abdominal muscles (sit ups, crunches). I don't know if any of that is helpful, but hopefully you'll find what works for you.

I found Pilates which incorporates a lot of pelvic floor work helped me so much. I find core excersizes so helpful also, as I find when my core is stronger everything just feels better and my bloat isn't as bad.

I agree with Shannon, I would go see a pelvic floor physiotherapist to find out what exactly you should be doing with regards to your pelvic floor. Me personally mine was way too tight so it needed to b stretched out, not exercised, but the physiotherapist will help with that too.
