Hi ladies, I’m new to this community. I have start taking Visanne on my 2nd day of my last menses (July). And after taking for 1 month, I have my menses today exactly one month after taking the pills. Can I check if this is normal as I was being told by my gynae that I would not have any menses after taking it. Am confused now, would appreciate if anyone can advise me. Thanks
Thanks for all the advice. I just feel that my spotting getting messier now and start to have more headache and mood swing. Moody after all ☹️
With visanne as PP said it is not birth control. It is crucial you take it at the exact same minute each day. I had some spotting the first month when my period was due and nothing after that. However due to taking it within a 30 minute window I ended up developing a cyst which ruptured. Which is why it’s crucial to take it at the exact minute each day.
Visanne isn’t birth control so be careful you can still get pregnant taking it. I’ve been on it for 2.5 years. I got some spotting and breakthrough bleeding first 6 months which was annoying but it was still better than the horrible flooding and pain each month before. In the last couple of years I’ve probably used one pack of panty liners to deal with the nearly non existent spotting and my pain has been reduced by about 90%. It has given me my life back.
Thanks SammyJoe 😁
On all birth control you can still bleed. Its can take up to 6 months for your body to regulate and accept all the changes. So dont panic. Just make sure you tell your doc next time you see him and if you bleed more than the usual 3-5 days it may be worth making an appointment. Especially if there are big clots or more than your normal amount of blood.
Hope this helps. x
