I had a laparoscopy 6 years ago and have tried a band full of birth controls since then with no real relief. Every form gives me some sort of side effect that I can’t handle as well as it never stops the bleeding
I was in Lupron for 4 months and bled through the whole treatment. Tried continuous birth control with pills, nuvaring, and nexplanon- none stopping the bleeding. Been bleeding on nexplanon every 2 weeks with intense back and pelvic pain
I feel like I’m running out of options and so… read more

Members rallied around someone struggling with unrelenting bleeding despite trying numerous birth control options and a Lupron treatment, sharing their own difficult journeys and practical next steps. Several members suggested exploring adenomyosis as a potential diagnosis (endometriosis within the uterine walls), with some describing relief after hysterectomy or tube removal, while others recommended natural remedies like yarrow supplement or tincture for bleeding control. A recurring theme was the exhausting process of advocating for proper diagnosis, the decision to stop hormonal treatments after years of trial and error, and the importance of finding an endometriosis specialist who can provide comprehensive care rather than temporary fixes.

It’s endometriosis inside the uterine walls. The only cure is a hysterectomy. I am 4 weeks post op (total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy). Basically I have no female reproductive organs left, save for my vagina... Everything was riddled with endo and I had adenomyosis! This was a last resort surgery for me though but it is an option if you have tried everything else and can’t find relief... if you aren’t planning to have children then it may be time to consider it! Just know that it doesn’t cure endo, endo can come back but at least you won’t have a painful uterus and bleeding all the time! I would also find an endo specialist who knows endo and how it works because even if you have adenomyosis and they remove your uterus, the rest of the endo needs to be excised, otherwise you may be no better off than you were...

That’s what I’m trying now- going to find alternative non hormonal ways to prevent pregnancy until our wedding next year. I’m done being a hormonal guinea pig!
