Vaginal Cuff Healing
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone ever had a hysterectomy and/or their cervix removed due to endometriosis?? I am 3 weeks post op. At 2 weeks, i started having light bleeding and oozing of alot of yellow fluid. It would gush at times. Doc didn't seem time so concerned. The fluid thing lasted about a week and now I'm having alot of bladder pressure and twinges. All my organs are gone down there so is my bladder now sitting on top my vaginal cuff? Anyone have issues with this?

I have had a hysterectomy they left both ovaries but this year I had to have one removed after 6 years .... the hysterectomy is the worst surgery ever I swear !! Bit I would not be concerned your body is trying to figure out what's going on so you will go thru some things that are great at times and very emotional too ... it's been 6 years since my surgery and it doesn't get easier let's just say that

Hello, I was having the same issue after my cervix was removed. They used little metal clips to close the cervix. They were supposed to pass, or fall out. Mine didn’t. My body grew tissue around them ( my insides kinda ate the clips) . I had to have another surgery just to have the metal clips removed. The yellow discharge I believe is growth puss. Perfectly normal. I believe it is like when you skin a knee and keep a bandaid on it. It forms a yellowish film because the air can’t hit it and scab. Hope this was helpful

I did have my cervix removed, I am not sure what a vaginal cuff is, it's almost 20 years since I had mine they might do things differently today. I don't remember having specific bladder problems, just felt like crap!

Sue,
Thanks. That makes me feel better. Did you have your cervix removed and if so, did you have a long recovery while your vaginal cuff healed?? Did you also experience bladder symptoms for awhile post-op??

Hi, even though I had a hysterectomy I still wasn't pain free, it sounds like what you are experiencing is normal, I went through all that also. I am currently taking Norethindrone. I actually went back early after my hysterectomy because I thought there was something wrong but it was all part of the healing process. But if you have consistent pain contact your dr.
