I had 4 weeks off for my hyster/excision and 5 months prior to that i had 6 weeks off for my pelvic mass and ovary removal. I'm a nurse but was still technically on lifting restrictions when i went back- ("don't lift anything real heavy) -- but because my position i was able to get assistance - it was fine. i felt back to normal after 2 months.

I had 8 weeks off because 2 weeks after my hysterectomy, I started having mild bleeding/pain. Went to ER and had emergency surgery next day due to infection, vaginal cuff prolapsed and my bowels were protruding thru internal incision and were also infected, which caused a bowel obstruction. I was in the hospital 8 days.

I read online that it can be anywhere from 4-6 weeks!
