Looking for others who can share their experience once they got their first period post-Laparoscopy/hysteroscopy procedure? I had the surgery Nov. 1 and had multiple cysts/polyps removed and diagnosed stage 3 endo. Been feeling fine and recovered well since the procedure and been waiting for my period to start and think I am about to - however, I feel severe cramping, nausea, which was always normal pre- surgery periods. Is your first period post- surgery typically expected to be the most… read more
Mine first period after the lap was pretty bad BUT that said I didn't suffer any cramps before the lap even though I had stage 3 endo. It did get better after that.
Mine after each surgery was worse, but after that they got better... its a hard thing to feel back to pre-surgery, but each time they operate A LOT of things are messed with so when we have that first period our body is still healing but it can get better
I was told that the first one could be worse, could be better or could be exactly the same (so useless, really!) The first period I had was only a few days after my lap and I found it to be roughly the same as periods prior to surgery (though I bled more). My second one was lighter. Then I fell pregnant so I have no idea when/how the next one will be!
I’m always so sorry to hear about difficult post surgery periods, but hope I can offer some reassurance as mine was pretty comparable to my periods pre surgery. I was still on codiene and smoked cannabis throughout, but I wasn’t in more pain than usual if I’m honest! I hope it went okay xo
Had my first period last week. Every period is painful for me, I stay on painkillers for about 5-7 days straight so i was not afraid of this one since I'm a tough cookie anyway. Oh Boy, how wrong was I... It was one of the worst experiences in my life, even the most powerful pain medication could not ease the pain. I was so weak that I couldn't manage to sit up in bed without help, my lips were blue, loosing sick amounts of blood with huge clumps, bathroom looked like a scene from a horror movie after each visit. I hope to everything in the world that next ones will be easier.
