Catscan With Contrast And Drinking Barium
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Wednsday i am going to the hospital to get a catscan w contrast to see how much endo i have and if theyre are cysts or anything else causing me all this pain. Theyre also going to look at everything since ive been taking cocktails of drugs for pain managment. Has anyone gotten this done to them? How did it go? Any tips on what to do before hand?

I had the ct with contrast & they just injected the contrast in the vein. I drank barium when I had a lower & upper GI. With the ultra sound I drank this stuff called Breeze but I don't know if it is the same thing as Barium or does the same thing. It's not that bad of a test but I had to pee every 15 min. afterwards bc of the liquid . Best of luck to you.

The ct scan with contrast is really quick and painless just a feeling of setting yourself when they inject the contrast which is weird .. the barium isn’t great as the drink is really thick and a lot of it then a fizzy really sour lemon drink to bloat you up and takes quite a few hours so take a something to entertain yourself xx
