I’ve been on codeine for the past two years but my main worry is dependence on the drug. Can anyone recommend anything else i could potentially request?

Kratom!! I had the same issue. It’s all natural and you don’t need a doctor to get it. Depending where you live you can get it at some stores. If not online. Definitely look it up. It’s been a god send for me.
