I'm terrified to take the Visanne I was perscribed. I have SUSPECTED Endo due to extreme bleeding and pain. I was given that, naproxen, and a blood thickner. I am experiencing depression and anxiety, have been for a couple years on and off. I had a couple friends go suicidal from BC so I refused to take it. I'm desperate to get the bleeding under control and was quite content with band aiding the pain with my whopping 10 T3s a year to be used in emerg. Now reading all these posts..

Hey Cass so when I was in my teen years I tried BC and had bad side effects, doc suspected the estrogen. They gave me high doses of naproxen and mefanimic acid. It didn't work for the pain. I was moved on to a gynecologist and he wanted to do a laparoscopy. I grew up in a rough home, so my mother could careless really of the next step and my needs were tossed out. I have seen counselors on and off for a long time, it wasn't until my best friend and god mom died within a year of each other that I became very sick with cycling anxiety and depression. I was misdiagnosed with HPV and cervical cancer, after months of feeling suicidal, I found out from the specialist it was a huge misdiagnosis, it was simply inflammed membrane cells. She was extremely cold about it when I confronted her on the mistake she made and she had given me antidepressants that I didn't respond to well, all over her poor judgment. Long story - I dont trust the Medical system and pharmaceuticals. So this I know hinders me in my options, but this is the first time I've gone back in 8 years so I'm making progress. The dizziness, pain and bleeding is out of control. But I don't want to sacrifice my mental state for it either. Thanks for reading if you had time.
I agree. Everyone reacts different so don’t take our experiences as gospel but I similarly had extremely bad thoughts on visanne that were never my thoughts before. My anxiety and depression worsened and it also made me very very very dizzy to The point where I’m shocked I was even driving I should not have been. I was super wobbly walking even five mins in the mall and very low and lethargic. However it did help my endo pain so it might be good for some! Don’t knock it till you try it
Visanne worked very well for me but after a couple of months I started crying all the time and having pretty dark thoughts... If you are already dealing with depressing and anxiety, I would not suggest it... But all medication has different effects on everyone! If you give it a try, take time to see if you feel any mood changes. And stop it if it does! ❤️
Been on visanne since july 2017 - side effects are limited for me. Sore breasts and recently a new side effect is massive bloating which Comes and goes but quite frankly it’s nothing compared to the pain I was experiencing !
I am taking Visanne for almost 2 years now. It was prescribed to me after laparascopy and my endometriosis was at stage IV. I am quite satisfied with the medicine. In the beginning I was just feeling sometimes hot flushes and sore breast, and sometimes I still do. I dont get periods, if I do, they are weak and short, more like spotting, but endometriosis is really under control and I didnt have any more problems. No pain, nothing. I haven’t noticed any mood swings or dark thoughts, but that’s just my personal experience.
