I was just diagnosed a month ago and my gyno is still in the "wait and see" stage of treatment. She wants me to go on birth control but I've been on it in the past and suffered from depression and severe acne because of it. Are there other ways to manage pain (diet, exercise, acupuncture, etc.) that you would recommend?
Look into the anti-inflammatory/Endo diet. I'm just now getting into it but a lot of people have seen great results with it. Also, I've heard cbd oil (which has no thc) helps as well but I'm still looking for a product that works for me. My mother had me start taking Valerian Root which has helped take the edge of the pain off as it relaxes the muscles a little bit. I am also not a fan of birth controls. i am currently on the mirena iud and the first year it helped but over the last two years my pain and periods came back full force and now the endo pain as well.
Birth control never worked for me, I decided to change a dr. This new dr gave me visanne tablets, seems to be working but I still get pains around my ovulation time
The new orilissa pill. But theres not so fun side effects of hot flashes and im personally not having a period now which makes it hard to know about pregnancy.
Yes @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member orilissa is a hormone blocker. Basically I feel like im in menopause on it.
Hi @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member,
Do you know what's in Visanne / how it works? Without a chem degree the Bayer resources are like gibberish. It said something about dienogest, but I've never heard of it. Thanks :)
