So I’m in the British army. (Found out I had Endo after a couple of years of service). I’m not longer on contraception as trying to conceive. So my Endo is major taking over with Flareups
So now my seniors want me to see if there is any info out there that we will all Benifit from at work. To help them understand how it not only affects women in general but also serving soilders ( with the job being so physically demanding and deployments ect)
I’m not currently down graded for it. But a doc… read more
I’ve left the army now but I found an employers endometriosis leaflet online and gave to my troop commander . Once he read it and understood the situation he informed (With my consent ) other seniors so if my endo did kick off they were very understanding. Also my doctors at the med centre we’re happy to sign me off for it whenever I needed. If it was just for phys or a few days in bed. I was honest, didn’t milk it so they respected that and aided it every well.
The lads the same rank weren’t great at first . But my mates were supportive and everyone soon got over it . I pushed my self hard on my good days so the endo days didn’t really get acknowledged after a while :)
Good luck!! Know your own body, don’t over do it otherwise you just burn out. With the army , the more they know there more they’ll understand so just been honest with ur doc and seniors that you feel need to no. :)
Hi I'm serving and I've just been diagnosed. I'm looking for someone else that's been through this 😕 it seems as though the lads saying 'it's just period pains' is not helping me whatsoever. Did you find any more information?
