Im not sure how ro reply to specific people here. Stacey, I have been on birth control for 10 years, i’ve had 3 laps, bilateral tube removal and i have tried the mirena. I just recently read about endometrial ablation and i was praying it may be the answer. Even if only temporarily.

Kat, yes. I guess? I read thay it can be helpful. I will talk “helpful” at this point.

I had ablation surgery twice and I feel it has made my symptoms worse. I ended up having my tubes tied and wish that I would have had a hysterectomy. After the second ablation surgery, my bleeding stopped completely but my symptoms worsened.
Any doctor I have seen cannot explain why I have not bled for nearly a year since the last surgery. So I actually think it has made my pain worse. I would seriously get another opinion before going ahead with it.

I was offered an ablation with a mirena implant as back up but was told that while it would stop my periods although possibly not forever, it may not help with the endo symptoms.
All an ablation will do is stop the uterus lining building up so if painful heavy periods are not your biggest and main concern, it most likely will not help with your endo pain, and it will definitely leave you unable to have children.
I know I struggled to find good info on ablation online and it is very hard to find good advice but if you have a good doctor, try to get more info from them so you can make sure it is right for you.
In my own personal opinion which should be taken lightly as I am not a Dr, if you are looking at ablation, maybe consider looking at a hysterectomy. I'm not suggesting it is what you should do, but if you are seriously considering anablation which will leave you infertile, it might be good to look at all options available.
I chose a hysterectomy when given the choice as I didn't want to delay the inevitable but it may not be right for you.
I wish you all the very best and I hope you can find a treatment that works for you! ❤
