Has Yoga Helped You? If Yes, What Kind?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have heard a lot of people say that yoga helped them manage their pain, but I don't know much about it.

As far as yoga goes, it really helps me. I stick to a gentle yoga where I can stay in poses as long as I need, as some types of yoga move to quickly and if I’m having a bad endo day, I feel like that’s too much. If its in your timeframe and budget, I’d recommend checking out local studios and focus in on classes that say “Gentle Yoga”, Slowga (or any variation of that), Moving Meditation, and even Iyengar. Hope this helps!

That's an awful thing to say to someone! You could try pointing out that there is only so much a healthy diet can do to relieve symptoms and its not a cure. Honestly though, if they're being that rude you shouldn't have to justify yourself to them. A hysterectomy is not a decision one makes lightly, and it isn't their place to judge you. Education is really important, and I commend you for trying, but you don't have to indulge judgement. It's okay to prioritize your energy and wellbeing over explaining yourself to others (especially if they aren't sincerely trying to learn). You know what's best for you :)

Hi there,
I was just wondering if Anybody can Help Me how to manage hurtful comments re bout if I hadve stayed on a healthy diet I wouldn't have needed a hysterectomy early it's been a HUGE kick in the butts to hear it. And of all days to hear it on Mother's Day aswell. Don't get Me wrong I do believe in Healthy Eating and it has its place but to hear I didn't Need the hysterectomy and it's pretty much My fault.
It hurts an awful lot. I know hurtful comments are going to keep coming that won't stop. How do you deal with them??
I admit I allow it to rattle Me and get depressed and become unconfident around othas and do frantic searches on Google to see wat causes what I had that lead to the hysterectomy and ask doctors if what I got told was true. And of course there answers are so extreme the otha way.
Please can Anyone Help???? And I do Apologise if that has upset Anyone too.
