I have endometriosis, I had a hysterectomy in Jan 2025 and told some people breifly about it then but described it broadly as a condition that would be helped by this surgery. I kept it very high level to men especially because when you say things like uterus and lining and stuff like that they kind of clam up. It was easier to talk about when I was simply explaining why I was getting a treatment and at the time beleived it would work. Now that it has grown back, and new hormonal issues have… read more

I honestly feel like most people are just asking just to be courteous, but do not want to hear a story nor do they really want to understand it. Just maybe saying that it is a women's condition that causes increased pain and inflammation with cycles should be sufficient enough

I had a friend go that route to treat it, too. Be kind to yourself, riding that tension of how to talk to people is real*... she talked about it being hard to navigate. She went on a bit of an induced menopausal roller coaster from what I understand, but I think she said after riding out a few weeks post-surgery, on the HRT a little while, things evened-out and she felt way better than she ever did before, emotionally.

It's a lot to talk about full removal of everything, and ppl are always the peanut gallery about why and with dietary and lifestyle things they can't understand. A lot to hold, and choosing where you feel it's safe and keeping it base-level for others is all good and fine ♥️

Isn't wild yam bad for endo? It addsestrogen back into the body which isn't good for endometriosis?

If you want to go a tad extra you could substitute women's condition with abnormal growth.

I had two excision surgeries and am now going through perimenopause and I am 42. One thing that has helped those symptoms is Anna’s Wild Yam Cream. (Make sure you order only through their site - there are a lot of counterfeits) https://annaswildyamcream.com.au/

My endometriosis came back pretty quickly after my surgery unfortunately. And I’ve heard that a hysterectomy does not keep it away either.

It is hard to talk to people about it for sure. Most people aren’t all that interested in other people’s health issues anyway. 🫤 And unless they’ve experienced it, it’s hard to understand.
