Can This Really Affect The Bladder?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I always have the urge to go to the bathroom. Even after I go that urge is still there. I read in an article that endometrios can affect the bladder. Is his true? If so how serious can it be?

Yes, I have endo on my bowel and bladder. The endo sticks to the organs and prevents them from moving properly.

So do I. I have to sit there and like push hard to go. And then I find myself sitting there for a few minutes longer just to get a little more out. Yes it is true. My specialist thinks I have it on my bladder as well.

Just make sure that there isn't urinary tract infection.

It is true - the endo can attack the nerves that lead to the bladder which can disrupt the signals to the brain which is why you don’t have normal toilet sensation (this is what my consultant said after I went to her for the same issue). It can also be on the outside or inside of your bladder, so they may perform a cystoscopy should they suspect bladder endo (I also had this done). Definitely go and get it checked out if you think this might be the case - the abnormal toilet sensations are so disruptive. I hope you aren’t in too much pain at least. I hope this is helpful. Hugs and thinking of you x
