What To Expect Before, During And After First Lap Surgery?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

So I'm finally getting my Lap Surgery on 9/24. Yes... it's a long ways away. I'm both excited and nervous. I know this question has been answered many many times but what should I expect
I was told about 2 week recovery. Anything I should have ready once the procedure is done
How much help will I need after the surgery is done?
Has anyone removed eggs and had them frozen during their lap?
My doctor told me to contemplate having an IUD put in, have any of you ladies done that or have any… read more

Everyone is different but I would highly recommend taking 2 weeks off.. you will not be so hard on yourself and get the best recovery .. I would not have coped going to work before 2 wks...

I work a desk job, so I was back in one week.
I was not allowed to lift anything over a certain amount for a month. No sex for a month.
The pain was bad for me. The pain wasn't even from the actual surgery, it was from the air they put in. The air traveled to my shoulders and that pain was so bad. I would cry every time I got up and laid back down.
I got surgery on tuesday and was back to work on monday.
It was not comfortable sitting, but I was not dying of pain.
That is just my experience though.
That whole week I mostly stayed in bed. Unless I had to feed the animals and take them out. It is good to walk around though. But it isn't easy.

I took a week off work and took things cautiously for the first couple of weeks back at work. After the first couple of days I didn't need much help, it's just a case of not doing anything too strenuous - like not lifting heavy pans or kettles. After a couple of days I didn't even need any pain killers and even immediately afterwards I didn't need as many as they wanted to prescribe.

My job I'm constantly walking back and forth, sitting momentarily and then running/walking back and forth. My goal is to be back in the office after a week.
thanks so much! this helps a bunch. :)
