Should I Push For A Laproscopy?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm seeing my second obgyn after a strong of bad doctors, she told me my history sounds like endometriosis and there's a cyst with debris on my ultrasound results. She's put me on visanne and now I'm just adjusting to the hormones, I don't get my period anymore which helps a lot. I go for a follow up ultrasound in a month, she says if the cyst disappears because of the visanne she's 100% confident it's Endo even without the surgery to confirm.

I've been on a mission to determine what's wrong… read more

I've been getting laparoscopic surgeries for some form of relief, if nothing else. However, I've read many say on here that excision surgery is the gold standard for relief. I personally have not had this done, but I would like to if my upcoming hysterectomy does not help. My OB has let me "take the wheel" when it comes to decisions on what I would like done, which I love! There comes a point where only you know what's going on with your body, and I always suggest going with what you feel is best - whatever that may be! I wish you the best of luck in treatment/diagnosis, and feel free to ask me any questions on my wall, etc.

Hello! We are in similar positions. For me I say push for it. It’s your health, you haven’t been getting the full answers, you have been back and forth with other gynecologist etc. just because you don’t want to have kids in the near future doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go for it. I am wanting one so bad too and have been going back and forth to gynecologist. I went to a specialist in the New York City and they said my next step is laparoscopy. But it could be very very expensive with him and could be 100,000 and who knows about insurance. I am also waiting on another gynecologist in Canada for March 4 to show her everything I have had done, symptoms etc. the specialist says I have both endometriosis and Adenomyosis but to what extent he doesn’t know unless laparoscopy. I have issues all over- affecting all organs. So yes I feel you deserve and should push for one!

Had a laparascopy done 2017 October and there was no relief at all. I'm on visanne pills now, and I feel so much better
