How To Stop Bleeding/ Trigger Warning This Is Sad
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Was Diagnosed with endo in April 2018 after a laparoscopy. Everything was going great until about the end of august when I got a flare up. Four months later I’m still in a flare up. Bleeding every single day. Heavily. I was put on a higher dose of continuous birth control in December but hasn’t worked. I am miserable. My doctor just retired so now I have to find a new one and am having trouble finding a new one. I am soooo depressed because of this. No one professionally has talked to me about… read more

Hi Olivia. I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. The way the nurse handled that is inappropriate and I'm sorry to hear that. Many medical professionals brush us off when they don't know what to do. It's inexcusable, but it is common.

You said you're in a dark place, which I've been in before. Do you have a therapist? Your safety is my number one concern, so I will just leave this here.
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
Call (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators)
Available 24 hours everyday

As to natural ways to stop such bleeding, no and I wish I had some. Sometimes Advil will help by reducing prostaglandin production, but that's not "natural", IMHO. I assume you meant no pharmaceuticals. You need to know what's causing it in order to stop it and there are countless things that could be. Thyroid, adenomyosis, polyps, fibroids, etc.

Feel free to read my story and recommendations tab, which has reviews of the surgeons I have consulted or had surgery with. Excision surgery is the only way to remove endo and greatly improve the chances of healing from it. It sounds to me like you had ablation surgery, which is where they burn the top of the endo, but the rest of it stays. Endo can make its own estrogen, so it can continue to grow and make us miserable. I have had 2 excision surgeries and my pain is 97% better. I still fight the fatigue, PMS, etc, but those are manageable compared to being in the fetal position on the floor of my kitchen and unable to move for 2 hours.

I like the link @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member posted. It's a great start. Nancy's Nook on Facebook has a larger list and lots of other articles that are educational about endo. I'll leave my general resource list here. Other users have found it helpful too. (thanks for the shout out, @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member). But I have many other bookmarks, so if you want something specific, I probably have a website saved.

I will also include a few specific links that I think would be a good start for you to read. Let me know if you have any questions and if I can do anything else. I'm sending you good vibes.

Hi, I am sorry you going through this. I would suggest finding a good doctor who specializes in Endometriosis. You deserve to know what is going on, and why. Find a doctor that listens, cares, and has experience to help you. Also I would suggest you read up on the disease and options as much as possible. @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member on here has some great resources and a list of doctors who specialize in endo. You aren't alone, and I know you will find the right doctor to support and help you.

You're most welcome. I'm glad you have a therapist and psychiatrist; I have been in therapy for about a year now and it's helped a lot. Take some time and read through them. If any questions come up or you want more details on something you can't find, let me know. Like I said, I probably have an article or two in my archives! Good luck and keep us posted, if you're cool with that.

Thank you so much this is honestly extremely helpful to me i truly cannot thank you enough for the resources I feel a lot less lost just from this post. I know there is something else going on behind the scenes and the only thing I have been able to rule out is thyroid. As for how it’s affecting me emotionally I have been seeing a therapist and a psychiatrist since my diagnosis thank you so much for caring I am so happy that you were able to get better after the excision surgeries I will definitely be looking into it❤️❤️❤️

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member; nice find on the list of surgeons there. It's great; I'm going to add it. I don't know why Nancy doesn't have some of those surgeons on her list. Interesting.
