How To Deal With Endo Belly
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I keep getting swelling in my abdomen that makes me look pregnant. It hurts and feels like my skin is going to burst. I try to take a hot bath to help relieve the pain but nothing seems to help it. Does anybody have anything to help with this??

I have found that following the Endo diet helps my endo belly. Basically I avoid dairy, gluten, red meat and sugar. When I break my diet I look 8 months pregnant!

Sorry to hear. I found that the only thing that helps relieve the pain is to lie down and relax

Endo belly is a thing! I wish my doctor would just listen. It takes away your confidence and forces you into bigger sized clothes. I hate it. I didn't have this until I started the depo provera shot. Now I am on the mini pill hoping it goes down, with no luck so far. Progestin dominant birth control methods cause swelling and bloating. I've tried everything..shape wear, water pills, diet change, gas meds.....nothing helps. Hysterectomy where are you?! :-[

I’m lactose intolerant but diet does help! Sadly i also have gastroparesis so the diets clash with one another. I dont drink anything carbanated or caffinated if i do i bloat very quickly.

I second the endo/anti-inflammation diet! Hot baths, heating pads can help but I’ve found the most relief from anti-inflammation diet. No dairy, alchohol, processed foods, white sugar/foods, gluten or red meat.
