Has Anyone Had A Cesarean Hysterotomy?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am currently pregnant and considering this option in hopes that a hysterotomy will solve my pain. Any pros/cons or information is helpful!

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member, a hysterectomy will not cure endo if endo isn’t removed through excision. If you have adhesions growing through your pelvic area and in rare cases other parts of your anatomy, it can continue to grow and cause symptoms. Hysterectomy will only help of you have adenomyosis. Not sure if doctors can tell during pregnancy or shortly after birth.

Oh I’ve already had my left ovary removed due to endo. I’m just wondering if anyone has had a hysterectomy to remove everything and no longer have to deal with endo.

I had a laparoscopic surgery turn laparotomy after my doc found that my left ovary and tube was adhered to my uterus with endo and Endo cysts. She had to open me up to safely take my left ovary which was incised -and diseased.

Hope you ask you doctors about any risks that could be factored in. Are they planning on removing endo? Do they specialize in endo!?
