I wish I knew at the beginning that most doctors don't know much about this disease and you can't trust them, and I wish I learned to advocate for myself sooner.
I also wish I got into meditation sooner because if I feel like I need to go to the hospital sometimes I can get myself to relax just enough to get the pain to a tolerable level. it really has mad a difference for me.
I wish I’d pushed harder for further investigation rather than accepting the doc putting me on the pill and suggesting it was early menopause causing my hot flushes. 10 years later was diagnosed as having adenomyosis and hot flushes disappeared after removal! Menopause my arse!
I was so naïve. I had a doctor tell me she would do laparoscopic surgery to diagnose me and remove all endometriosis she saw. Well, she did the surgery and she didn't remove any of it! She did diagnose it, but it turns out she wasn't actually skilled enough to remove it. I'm not sure what she was thinking. I had it on my bladder, rectum, ligaments that support the uterus, cul-de-sac, and my peritoneum. I guess she thought it would just be on my ovaries or something? I am grateful she didn't destroy my bladder or digestive tract. I found a much better surgeon and had it removed 6 years later.
I wish I have had a better diet since I was young. I think this could have avoided some inflammation that I have. And now I wish to get the best treatment for me. I know hysterectomy has worked well for many but I have also heard many people that have had problems after it. I need to do research more about hysterectomy cons and pros
