Sadly I had ablation the first time because just like you I had no idea and I thought my surgeon knew best. I had my first surgery in February of 2019. I felt better for a few months but then the pain came back. After begging her to go back in because I knew something was wrong she did in June of 2020 and once again went with ablation.

I wish I had known what I know now as I am going in for my third surgery May 10th. This time I went and got a second opinion first because I just didn’t think my ob was really listening to me and found a surgeon who does excision and is highly recommend.

I have a lot of other things going on that she missed so the ablation isn’t all to blame. I didn’t have luck with ablation but maybe you will!! I hope you do :)

It is not very effective, but hopefully you will be lucky & have some relief for a while, so you can plan your next steps & you'll know where to go if you need to in the future. 💛 Nancy's Nook (the fb group) has the best list of excision specialists w/ reviews.

Thanks so much for sharing! My surgery was December 18, 2020 and they said to give it 3 months after to see if symptoms go away. As soon as the surgical pain went away my low back pain and cramps returned so they put me on gabapentin and meloxicam to help with chronic pain. I just stopped taking them and the low back pain is getting intolerable again with occasional cramps, so I’m truly scared the ablation didn’t work and not sure how long I have to wait if I were to do excision since they burned it all...😞

Thanks for the response! Interested to see if this is the overall consensus from ladies who’ve done it. From what I’m now reading it seems like excision is more highly recommended, which I wish I would have known to prevent multiple surgeries later.
