I'm at the end of what i can take with pain. I had co-codamol for a few years. It never touched the pain. The last year I've been on tramadol. This is the first thing that has come close to touching the pain but still isn't enough to impact it on the first day which is severe. My life is ruled by pain and I'm sick of it

Honestly, it got to the point (and I was still 17 at the time) that I asked my doctor for a medical marijuana license.
ER doctors in my city literally thought I was a drug addict looking for a fix, so they'd stick me with an IV and one dose of morphine later, I was discharged.
One of many things that I have learned is that narcotics are highly addictive and are not to be used for more than about a week at a time, whether orally or intravenously. This isn't just because of addiction rates, it also has to do with bowel function.
One medication that I had quite a bit of success with while I was on it was Gabapentin. That, and the medication that I am currently on, which is Orilissa. However, even in Canada I am spending a lot of money on that one. It induces menopause :/ It really isn't cheap, so without top-shelf health insurance you're kind of in trouble should that one be prescribed.
