@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member a couple of years ago and then again sometime August/September last year. I’ve tried just about every hormonal treatment there is except Visanne.
The first time taking hormones for me it was a complete disaster and tried several. I have bipolar II with leanings more towards depression.
It messed with my mental health that I ended up in a psych ward.
At the time I didn’t put 2+2
together.
Last year again with hormones I plummeted so badly very quickly and they were just about to switch me to Synarel and what do you know-straight away back in hospital. For 3 months!
Hormones also don’t seem to relieve any endo issues for me.
I’m not suggesting anyone else shouldn’t take it. I know women it’s worked wonders for, this is just my experience.

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member, hormones make us nuts. They also don't work for endo. EXCISION is the gold standard of treatment. Some accept insurance and most do not. My surgeon doesn't. The hospital did. I will have to see my surgeon again soon. Not certain if endo is back or if it's still inflammation from COVID.

I just realised somehow all my ranting here is responding to the wrong post 🤷‍♀️

Synarel was THE worst for me too. And like you said, no symptom relief either.

I feel like this all the time during a flare. You aren't alone.

Have you by chance seen a vetted endometriosis excision specialist?

So SAD. Drugs like Depo do not stop disease progression. I took Synarel and almost had cervical cancer from it. It did nothing to stop the pain, made me osteopenic, and horrible hot flashes. Worse than true menopause. It didn't work!

None of these hormone replacements works.

We need excision. It's our only chance. There is also recurrence sometimes after excision but it's very low.
