Has Anyone Had Worse Flareups After Unilateral Oophorectomy And Salpingectomy?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had my surgery in March, my right ovary removed my fallopian tubes removed and endometrioma in my left ovary was attempted to be removed but it burst and she had to leave it in there. She wanted to save my 1 ovary for hormones. My bladder, Bowels, ovary & uterus were fused together. However, since the surgery my flareups have been worse and more frequent! And my left ovary endometrioma has doubled since March. Why???????? I thought this would have helped not made it worse! Thank you

If she performed ablation that could actually create more scar tissue and more pain after the surgery. If the organ were separated, often they still fuse back together. That’s what happened after my surgery in February and I’ve been in pain since. Also, endo just creates a higher change of large ovarian cysts. My first one that was removed was the size of a football! I also grow cysts very quickly. Eliminating your period through birth control or other hormonal medication may help the cyst from growing any larger.

Thank you for the response. Yeah it's just crazy that it's been worse than ever. That makes sense though. I'm trying to gather more questions for my surgeon. I feel like I'm always bugging her but they just don't understand the pain, if they haven't experienced it. Thanks again
I hope you are doing better and your surgery has been successful. 🤗

I feel like no matter what we do we can't get relief. I'm so sorry 😔

Oh my goodness. That's awful! I was considering Urinary Artery Embolization instead of a hysterectomy I was just officially diagnosed with adenomyosis. They're saying the only way to go is a hysterectomy. I was hoping there was a simpler approach less extreme but it doesn't sound like it from what you're all saying.
