Pain Management
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey everyone! I'm new to this group and am still learning things but I have a question. I was diagnosed with endo back in August via laparoscopy. it. is. everywhere.... and it's so unbearably painful. the heating pad is literally my best friend and stays by my side at all times. does anyone have any tips or have found any other relief? the evenings seem to peak but I'm miserable all day long. thank you so much in advance

I have only had laparoscopies, but when it is time for me to go under the knife again I will definitely do excision with a more specialized doctor. I have read and heard that it is so much more helpful.

Aside from that, I take Epsom salt baths. I avoid caffeine and anything that would normally cause bloating for me (dairy and sugar). Oddly, great support in my shoes has helped. I have a lot of scar tissue and adhesions on the back side of my uterus, so back pain is one of my challenges, but good support does help. And pelvic floor physical therapy. It was a mentally uncomfortable process for me, but it was helpful. I recommend you give it a try.

Wishing you relief from the pain! Sending hugs.

You need to have the scar tissue removed before it spread out to other organs in your body. Talk to your doctor about it. Wishing you a life free of pain.

low dose muscle relaxers can help at night (not my fav but sometimes u gotta do what u gotta do) during the day some light stretches can help. I use gabapentin during the day may be something you can ask your doctor about. I'm so sorry I hope you find something that works for you. It is a journey. Stay strong 💜

thank you all so much. they found it in my liver lungs bowel back everywhere. I started my period at a ripe age of 9 years old and have had multiple problems over the years. I've been misdiagnosed countless times, but finally this year they found the culprit: endometriosis. it's just been a very "long" stressful and depressing road already. I appreciate the info ladies 💚
