Hi! I have had 4 doctors say I might have endo. Symptoms are cyclical pain in my kidney around periods, throwing up and severe cramps on my period , ongoing stomach pain and sensitivity.
I'm trying to figure out if I should have the lascopary to diagnose or if I should start a treatment and see how my body responds. Is the recovery from surgery worth it or is starting birth control or just managing pain a better way to start?

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this. Endometriosis is hard to diagnose since symptoms can be different for everybody. The only way to confirm endo is by laproscopy, anything else is an educated guess.
I cannot tell you what is right for you, but in my experience laproscopy aggrivated my endo and made the pain so much worse.
Perhaps it might be worth trying a birth control to see if it helps first…you can always stop taking it.
Have you had ultrasounds or MRI that could rule out other causes, and can detect endometrioma cysts
Look into doctors that do excision procedure go to Nancy's nook this way in case it's not endometriosis they'll figure it out either way to create a better individualized treatment plan for you. Good luck!
