I'm due to have a hysterectomy and an ovary removed, I'm concerned it'll make me gain weight and have mood swings.

Oophorectomy is a very simple procedure with very minimal down time. As for the hysterectomy that is much more invasive. Please keep your options open because I was diagnosed at 13 and told I'd never have children and so on, but I was blessed with 2 young boys, right after getting my right ovary removed (oophorectomy) (after 9 years, 11 surgeries later). I struggle with very painful menstrual cycles and such but was so worth the wait for my angels, if i had done the hysterectomy I'd never would have them obviously.
