Any Suggestions On Dealing With Endometriosis/painful Periods In The Work Place?

I am the only employee in a law office where I can't hide the public. I have a male boss who doesn't get endometriosis or understand why I can't think or function some days. I get no sick or vacation pay so missing a day of work isn't an option.

Thank you ladies! I'm going to look into getting heat bands as heat helps a lot with the pain.

Sorry to hear this…I’ve been there too! ThermaCare makes heating bands thin enough to wear under your clothes - they should last a whole work day! I also had success with a back pillow at my desk chair for a little extra support. Stock up on tea or whatever helps relax you. For me, sometimes it’s hard to explain what’s wrong - who wants to talk about endo at work? But also you might need to bring up that you’re not at your best - so if you need to describe it as a headache/backache, go for it. Your pain is yours, and you don’t have to share any details you don’t want to, especially at work. Good luck to you - let us know how it goes!

Gosh I have been thru that. It is so hard to explain the pains to someone who hasn't experienced it. The past 2 days have been rough for me. I've tried so many pain relief options, some work, others had no effect. I recently bought some heat bands. I am trying one out for the first time today. I am pleased with it. I'm able to wear it and still be mobile.
