Pain Even If You Don’t Have A Period?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I haven’t had a period for several years
I’ve been on the pill since my last laparoscopy (which I had not long after my youngest daughter was born) and I’m very fortunate that it seems to have done the trick up until recently.

The last 6 months or more, I have been getting pain in the same regions that I experience endo pain.
I’ve been thinking the pain is gastro related as I don’t have any periods, but my GP thinks it’s endo and has done a gyny referral.

So does anyone else experience… read more

Thanks guys. I used to get pain throughout my cycle as well when I had periods, I don’t have periods at all now which is why I’m not convinced it’s endo.

I will know one way or the other before too long hopefully 🤞

Endo tissues migrate from just outside the uterus. Whenever the tissue flares it also inflames whichever organ it’s migrated to. They have found endometriosis all the way up in my liver. This is why a hysterectomy isn’t a sure win. Most people have infiltrates in their bladder, bowels, and intestines which is why their is such a high correlation of interstitial cystitis or irritable bowel syndrome. You need to find someone who specialized is endometriosis. GP’s and regular gynecologists are well versed or trained enough to get to the root cause. I highly recommend finding a specialist or functional medicine doctor to help investigate the root causes and how far it has spread.

Yes. Before, during, and after my period I tend to have pain, as well as dizziness, nausea, etc. It spikes while I'm on my period. And then takes about a week or two for me to feeling more like myself a little.

Yea ma’am, the more advanced the endometriosis is the longer periods you experience the pain. I’m stage four now and it’s to the point where I’m only not in pain 3-5 days a month if I’m lucky. It’s at least a week before, during, and an week after my period.
