Exercising To Get Relief?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

You know what is interesting, on IG i see ALL the time that people suggest, for endo, to keep moving… which is interesting because i can barely walk my normal strides because of the pains. The MORE I’m moving, twisting, bending… the MORE pain I’ll be in. Even when I was able to do yoga, They have yoga for endometriosis. It’s painful to do positions like downward dog and even child’s pose… Anyone else have more pains with more movement? Praying I’m not alone on this. 😒😔😞

Just lifting my leg for a step or getting in or out of a car is too much at times, let alone walking. I find I can move at some points throughout the month, but once the cycle comes back, I'm down! So I have trouble getting ahead and in shape

Hello! I’m so glad you have posted this. I am currently in the process of getting a diagnosis and am sick of being told to exercise more for the pain, as exercise is something that really exacerbates the pain for me! As Saf2 said, sometimes walking helps, but anything that properly gets my heart pumping usually instigates terrible cramps

Yep! I'm that way with both general excercise and with pelvic floor therapy! I just recently even fought with one of my docs about him trying to make me go back to pelvic floor physical therapy when I already did about 3 years worth with two amazing therapists and it just made me worse. Apparently, my doc doesn't care about solving the mystery of why that is. Lol. I worked a very physical job. Recently stopped working cause of prolapse complications, but still can't do much outside of forcing myself to power through housework and art projects, even though the worst physical tasks are off the table now. I expected to have way more of an energy boost since I'm no longer working. I'm not even about to try doing exercises since I'm off work cause I'm afraid I won't even be able to take care of myself and the house! The best "pain relief" I've ever gotten from exercising is just a duller ache...which tends to linger really long afterwards and make me feel like i'm coming down with a cold or something. Please let me know if you do come across any ideas for why this might be cause I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall with this too! I'm guessing you already did a few rounds with a pelvic floor therapist too and it didn't work/made it worse?

Sorry to hear that xx @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member
I just realised I said "a lot of walking"
Not a lot, just a little to keep active but keeping it regular

I can barely do light walking. Walking to and from my car takes a toll on me… so anything else is rough…😔
