Does anyone else’s family or friends get offended when you talk about endo or infertility, even if it’s in the slightest? They act like it’s a choice. Mind you, I’m only 26, just had stage 4 endo mostly removed, and only have 1 fallopian tube. How was this my fault?

Yes!! Like give us something. I am so happy you have your mom, that definitely helps! My mom has had endometriosis but It wasn't as bad as ours. My aunt had it. She had a hysterectomy and had to have surgery 17 times after because it kept coming back. The more scar tissue you have from it the more it comes back. It's like it feeds it. My grandmother had it so bad she ended up having ovarian cancer. So it's definitely allot we go through and most don't understand or like you said they act like we can reverse it. I'm on the same boat. Once we get our miracle baby, no one will hold it.
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member Yes! My mom is understanding and she’s the only one I can lean on because she had infertility until she was like in her 40’s and had my sister (I’m adopted because she couldn’t have more). My husbands side/sisters don’t understand. They basically sneezed and got pregnant. I don’t really care that people don’t know what endo is, but then you tell them you have it and it’s the reason you’re struggling with infertility and they could care less or they get genuinely get offended, like it’s a health choice and we can just reverse it if we hate healthier and made lifestyle changes. Gosh I hate that response like you mentioned. It’s so condescending. How about some support, a hug, anything? It’s like people don’t have empathy and care for your struggles until you have a baby or you’re pregnant. But for gals like us, it’s years of doctors visits, major surgeries, recovery, emotions, pain etc. Whenever we have our miracle baby best believe I will not let anyone else hold it unless they start showing up and being supportive of the infertility process not just when I’m pregnant 💁🏽♀️
Yes, I've had my sister in law brush it off. When I had found out my tubes were blocked and I started getting depressed. She asked what was going on with me & I finally opened up to her. She brushed me off with the " Oh you'll be okay, it'll happen when it's time." & that was it. I get others don't understand how it makes us feel, but darn... we open up and you just brush us off? It makes us feel unimportant. What gets me is when other females don't understand it or know what endometriosis even is. Which baffles me.
This is definitely not your fault, but believe me I go through times when I blame myself . We will get through this. It's tough but we got this 🖤
You have a family of other that completely understand now🖤
Yes some friends even coworkers got annoyed by it...but It's disease that causes a lot of heartache and the cause are still unknown. If people could walk a mile in our shoes...
