I’m nervous about the depo shot has anyone had that and had any bad reactions? I’ve tried the pill but not for very long. It sucks that hormone therapy and/or surgery are the only treatment for endo 😒
From my best understanding no birth control stops endo growth, they just help symptoms and can help with pain. Surgery is the #1 treatment but even then it doesn't stop growth completely, but it provides the most relief the longest. I hope that the depo helps you though, hormone therapies can provide a lot of relief.
When I took hormonal treatments they didn't help my pain much, just made my skin really clear haha
Hey! I've just come off the depo injection, I've come off after learning that it doesn't stop the growth - it helps relieve/mask the pain. I've come off the injection after a year, and feel exactly how I did (if not worse) before I started it. I've also been getting quite strange pain in my bones, this was another reason for me coming off it. Obviously everyone has a different experience, but I really didn't like it. As Ally said, it also made me bleed extremely heavily for over a month non-stop :( Sorry, it's probably not what you wanted to hear
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I am on the Depo
No birth control gets rid of endo. but it does make your symptoms not hurt so bad. I can’t tell you what to do. Not every birth control works for everyone. I hope the depo works for you.
It took me a few different tries to find something that actually worked
Good luck I got the shot over 3 months ago and bled the entire time. Still spotting to date waiting on my next appointment
