I’m pretty sure I need to have a colonoscopy because the pain with a period in passing bowel movements is unbearable.

Not saying to forego the colonoscopy but it'll only show the inside of your bowel & since the pain is menses-specific, I'm guessing you might have bowel endo, adhesion, or similar. My uterus is adhered to my colon. I no longer bleed due to the mini pill but flare ups still cause BM terror.

I’ve had a colonoscopy and suffer from what sounds like the same as you, horrendous pain when passing a BM during my ovulating / menstruating days. The pain is unbearable. This morning I almost passed out because it was so bad. They’ve put me on a pill but it’s not working. Nothing was found with my colonoscopy.

They have attempted one, but due to endo adhesions my sigmoid colon now has a hair pin curve that the scope could not navigate. I have Deep Infiltrating Endo on/in my bowels. To date Ive had 4 bowel resections. Im happy to answer any questions.

Thats good to know. Thank you. My doc is really helpful but I feel like she’s still learning about endo.
