I Googled going upstairs after a hysterectomy. The articles they pulled up all said it was ok.. that doesn't seem right to me.
(I sleep upstairs)

After my full hysterectomy they gave me this abdominal/pelvic support wrap thing that you wrap around your belly and it has velcro. That helped me a lot with walking and going up the stairs. Just take it very very slow!

I was fine walking up the stairs after my hysterectomy. Just had to go very, very slowly and use a support railing, and a family member also helping to support. The main thing was to make sure I didn't slip or fall (good footwear helps), had someone there to assist in case I needed it, and avoid lifting weights/ carrying any heavy things. But going upstairs was not a problem for me, and the doctor did not prohibit it. It may also depend on how intensive the surgery is and what kind. I had robotic-assisted laparoscopy my first one), at the same time that I had my total hysterectomy. The skill of the surgeon helps; I had teeny, tiny incisions that healed quickly. My surgeon was at Columbia-Presbyterian Gynecology in NYC.

Forgot to mention, I also used a cane in the beginning stages.

I'm not sure about hysterectomy...but after my laparoscopy (which seems less invasive than a hysterectomy) it was hard to go up stairs without support of another person.....

I would definitely wait ✋️ before tackling those stairs.
