Laparoscopic Excision Recovery
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am 4 months post op next week. I was wondering for anyone who’s undergone laparoscopy when does the swelling and pains go away? My lower belly is still swollen and tender to touch. My incision scars still hurt and I feel like my recovery is taking a very very long time. I feel like I can’t recognize my body anymore and it’s taken a toll mentally. I wonder if anyone else recovery taken this long and does anyone know when it starts to go back to normal?

So sorry to read several answers with the same problem. I had my laparoscopy on Sept. 20 and nothing was wrong, no pain, no swelling at all :(. I live in Tbilisi, Georgia 🇬🇪 and had a really good surgeon. Hope you’ll feel better soon ❤️❤️

I was on pain medication for 3 to 4 days and the swelling went down on days 4 and 5 after my laparoscopy and excision surgery. I was a fairly quick healer, but my lack of pain in that area may have contributed for be being diagnosed later in life when my adhesions were severe.

I don't get periods anymore, so I have no experience with that, I'm afraid. Maybe see how things go, and i it doesn't improve, demand help, advice etc.? I don't know :/

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I definitely feel the pain more around my period. The swelling isn’t as bad as it was the first two weeks but it comes and goes. I try telling my surgeon but he keeps saying give it time
