So far w my bowel resection I have to keep taking stool softeners or il become constipated. What sucks is that they have no idea if it worked until everything is healed and I had a hysterectomy in Aug so my body is a wreck on the inside. Keep me posted to see how you are doing

The surgery went well. Unfortunately the pain that I was having was being caused by a herniated disc leaking fluid bc the pain came back regardless of my hysterectomy and my colon surgery. Now I did need both done regardless but my pain dr said that a herniated disc that’s leaking fluid can cause chronic pain in my back legs hip and pelvis it was just masked by my endometriosis and diverticulitis

How did surgery go

I sympathize with you. It takes a long time for your body to get back to normal. I had my rectum removed last year and 4 other smaller surgeries. And will have the 2 big surgeries also this year. In addition to the Endo forum, I have a colorectal cancer buddy who has gone through the same surgeries I have, a year ahead of me and helps me know what to expect. If you have a colon disease in addition to the endo-finding a buddy one on one can be very helpful and also free. Going through both at the same time is hell and it’s hard to separate out which symptoms belong to which disease. My aunt has both things that you have, so she and I also relate.

I can keep you posted. I have it and I’m splitting it in 2 surgeries for less risk. My bowel endo surgery is Fri and that is the lower bowel and includes a hysterectomy. I have a lot to be done in that surgery-everything is stuck together and I can’t eat solid foods or have a bowel movement without a laxative. So I’ll know next week on that part. I have to have my cecum resected later this year. I’m doing separately because for me, it was less risk on my body. I also have a colorectal surgeon that I work with that is an expert at resections and less risk of a stoma. I’m waiting about 6 months between surgeries to heal. Sometimes they can do both at once, but I’ve had colon resections before and they are no joke.
