Members expressed deep frustration with finding effective endometriosis treatments, with many sharing painful experiences of being dismissed by doctors as drug-seekers or told their pain was imaginary, leading some to drive hours for care or give up on local providers entirely. Several members described their current approaches, including Lupron Depot with norethindrone, NAC supplements, excision surgery with vetted specialists, magnesium for pain relief, Somedays cramp cream, and avoiding tight clothing or trigger foods, while many emphasized that hysterectomy and ovary removal are often pushed as solutions despite not being cures and causing additional harm like forced menopause. A recurring theme was the lack of accessible, knowledgeable specialists, the financial burden of proper excision surgery, and the fierce encouragement within the community to keep advocating for themselves and never give up despite systemic medical dismissal.

I am so frustrated that women have to have a hysterectomy or ovaries removed and destroy our reproductive organs or get rid of our reproductive organs as just a treatment option and not a cure I pray that in the future they find a cure for endometriosis also being on hormones for the past five years I’ve really done a number on my body mentally physically and emotionally…

Yes, and struggling to find doctors I can trust to know what they're doing.

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member, a hysterectomy AKA CASTRATION is the incorrect way to treat endometriosis.

That ignorant, trained OBGYNs think this is correct burns me!!

First thing they tell u is to get rid of your ovaries (which immediately sets you into menopause) or get on birth control (doesnt help) or if u don't have kids to hurry up and get pregnant (Are u kidding me?) at this point I'm convinced they are making ish up as they go

Hugs to my lovelies!

If anyone needs a vetted endo excision specialist, please talk to me. I know most in the USA and UK and many others worldwide.
