It's kind of rare that your MRI showed adeno. Endo is typically too small to be spotted on any kind of imaging. It will require surgery to officially diagnose Endo. However, I will say that it's very likely that you have endo. Adeno is quite similar to Endo but it only occurs within the muscle lining of the uterus. I think that most people with adeno also have Endo, but I'm not sure of the actual statistics.

As of right now, that’s all that scans show too.

Personally, I've wanted a hysterectomy since my early teens, but after my first endo surgery, I found that I needed a hysterectomy. Unfortunately, the doc refused to remove my ovaries and cervix, so I'm still suffering a lot. If you believe that you need a hysterectomy, weigh the risks against the possible benefits to see if you need to have your ovaries removed. In my case, leaving them in posed a much bigger risk but the doc I had acted like doing more surgeries wasn't a big deal.

At what point did you decide for the hysterectomy?

I was only diagnosed with adenomyosis. I had total hysterectomy done but still have my ovaries left.
