What is the best contraceptive to completely stop periods without significantly affecting mood? I’m currently taking Visanne and have lost all motivation — my dopamine levels feel completely depleted. I’m looking for something gentler than Visanne, but still strong enough to stop menstruation. Thank you
Thank you 🙏
I was on Norethindrone, .35mg pills, but my doctor had me take additional pills every day before my laparoscopy. Other than the weight gain I loved being on it, no periods, no mood issues like some other birth controls, minimal pain. Maybe ask your doctor if they can just up the amount of pills you take each day? I tried to look at my records, but it was back in 2021, so I can't see how many I was taking online. It was at least a double dose though. I took it after surgery too, but at .35 mg I still had my normal cycle. Good luck!
Which dosage of norethindrone are you taking? Because here in Canada, only the 0.35 mg dose is available. I’m wondering if that’s enough to stop menstruation.🤔
Lolo and norethindrone are good ones. Qlaira/Natazia but I don't think you can get it in Canada. You could also talk to your GP about anti-depressives to see if that helps.
Hi! I was on loestrin for almost a decade and had no side effects. Periods non existent or were very light lastly maybe 2 days. I was briefly on norethindrone during my ivf cycles. I had no period but I can’t speak much on it since I was only on it for 2 weeks. Hope this helps. 🙏
