Hi All,
I'm a 45 yr old mom of 1 that is 6 weeks post-op from my ovary removal. I have Stage IV with obliterated cul-de-sac, and the doctors decided ovaries had to come out. They would like me to go 6 months without any HRT to see if it will help stop the endo progression. I feel like I can handle the hot flashes and night sweats, but the extremely dry skin is driving me crazy. I would love any advice you all have.
Ok! Try plain old shea butter-- usually comes in a tub & doesn't look appealing, sometimes has little gritty bits from processing but worked wonders when I got my feet inked.
(side bar: bc your feet are extremities & don't have a lot of fat or muscle to cushion the swelling, they turn into Hobbit feet for a few days🥺. I wish I had known beforehand so I could plan a day to lounge & read & ice😉)
I know oats are recommended for chicken pox itchies; wonder if Aveeno makes a clinical strength version. Coconut oil (for cooking+) is great but takes FOREVER to absorb 🫠
Thank you for the suggestion! I hate the slimy feeling of lotion but can't handle the dry skin. The worst part is that I have tattoos and they all look dull because my skin is so dry. 😝
I don't have this experience (yet) but I would think a heavy hitter like CeraVe or Eucerin would be a thing to try since they're dermatologist recommended. I don't shave my legs in the winter bc I get super dry skin & use straight Shea butter on them; it takes a little while to really soak in until you're not a slime ball but gives great results. Hope you find your balm💖
