My doc prescribed Letrozole for estrogen supression. I have been on it 9 days and have been experiencing fullness in my ovaries and uterus. They are very swollen and tender, they fell like they are going to pop. I couldn't sleep due to the pain and barely made it through my work day. My mood has also been effected and I have been more depressed. I called my doctor and they offered to switch to Ayegestin, but its up to me. Has anyone experienced a decrease in side effects with Letrozole? I don't… read more
Its so good to find some Letrozole sisters! I was dxd with adenomyosis and likely endo fairly recently after decades of search. I started Letrozole with progesterone 1.5 months ago and its been a… read more
Anyone tried both Visanne (Dienogest) and Aygestin (Norethindrone)? If so, please share your experience regarding effectiveness for endometriosis. Did one medication have more side effects (breakthrough bleeding, weight gain, bloating, and fluid retention, etc) than the other?
Vissane worked for me, no weight gain, no acne. Effects were mood swings, low libido at times, nauseous feeling.
If there is better surgeries than a laparoscopic procedure and also what type of medication have you guys have had good or bad experiences with?
I have not.
I had a laporscopy about 4 years ago and I felt better for about a year before things got really bad again I was on a waiting list for surgery last year until we found out I was pregnant with my baby girl. After having her I felt great for a few months and now the pain is coming back I'm noticing it more and more. It's not constant like it used to be so I'm wondering if it's worth looking into surgery now or if I should wait till it gets worse and do it then
You are in my prayers. I pray that yeah the operation goes well.
Hello everyone,
I just had laparoscopic surgery 2/22 and my gynecologist has found adhesion/ endo in my uterus. Some were able to be removed however there are still smaller ones still there. The gynecologist told my parents I would need the shot I’m guessing (lupron) which will put me in a menopause state. My question is what treatments have you sought out? Is the shot worth it or should I look into alternatives I’m already on birth control and have been for years.

Thank you so much for your input.
I've never taken hormones prior to my diagnosis. The first one I tried was the Depo shot and it almost destroyed me mentally and physically, the side affects were so bad: my existing Anxiety went through the roof, I developed depression, extreme fatigue, a total absence of sex drive, and my migraines were worse than ever. My doctors recommended I try Aygestin instead, as the hormone levels were much lower. Things are better, but I still don't really feel...normal? Has anyone else tried Aygestin… read more
Does aygestin help to prevent pregnancy? A doctor told me it does not. It traeats more the endometriosis. Im on the 5 mg one. The one they said prevents more is 0.35 mg. What is the difference between both?
I have been on dienogest for a while now and switching back to micronor 0.35 for birth control and I am really nervous cause I was on it before and didn't do much for pain but Dr said it might be… read more
After having my lap, my OB put me on the mini-pill. I have been on it for two years and had breakthrough bleeding a lot. I have a history of low iron/anemia as well, from my Endo and heavy periods. My new OB wants me to take a higher dose, 5 mg, of Aygestin to stop my bleeding/periods, and better manage my endo
I am nervous about increasing the dosage and possible side effects. Has anyone been on Aygestin and had good luck? It feels like there are limited options for us Endo ladies, and I am… read more
No I'm no longer taking the Aygestin
