Amitriptyline, Cymbalta Or Gabapentin?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Wondering if anyone has had any experience with amitriptyline, cymbalta or gabapentin? Met with my endo specialist and due to my depression and daily pain/flare up, he suggested trying one of these. I’ve done some research elsewhere on these meds, but want to hear from my endo community directly. I had my second ablation surgery this past January, but finally found someone in my area (upstate NY) who does excision! Scheduled for September, a light at the end of the tunnel!

I have tried all 3. From my experience Amitriptyline made me more sick, Gabapentin had minimal effects and Cymbalta helped a bit more.

Has Anyone Been On Cymbalta?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

One dr. wants me to try Cymbalta & I was wondering if anyone has taken it & what kind of side effects did you have? I'm afraid of new pills. I need one that doesn't make you gain weight or give you constipation. It is probably impossible to find one.

Leg/hip Pain Remedies? Experience With Cymbalta?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've had sciatic type pain for ten years, only partially responsive to chiro/PT. Massage, heat/ice alternating, and LOTS of ibu used to help somewhat. Now it is becoming debilitating. I think endo might be culprit, but can't see excision specialist for consult until May, so surgery wouldn't be until even further out. Any suggestions? Has anyone used cymbalta/duloxetine for this kind of pain with any success?

Vaginal Bleeding After Bowel Movement
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was increased to 60mg of Cymbalta every other day a couple weeks ago and I started to bleed, they told me to to back to 30mg until it subsided but I've continued to bleed since (for 2 weeks). It had stopped for a day and then I had a flexible sigmoidoscopy yesterday and instantly started gushing blood from my vagina. It stopped but now anytime I have a bowel movement I gush blood again. Help! Xox

Referral To Pain Management Clinic---opioid Use
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi. I have had a partial hysterectomy, laparoscopy with and. and endo removal. I am still in great pain. I have tried my best to avoid controlled substances but want to have some kind of a life other than sitting with a heating pad and suffering the entire time I grit my teeth through playing with my child. I was referred by my OBGYN to a pain clinic in Kansas City (where I reside). They told me they do not see/treat endometriosis patients. My PCP is now referring me to another one. Has… read more

Has Anyone Tried The Nerve Med Lyrica (pregabalin)? If So Did It Work For You? Side Effects?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My endometriosis expert wants me to try a new nerve medication called Lyrica (pregabalin). If you've tried this, did it help with your pain? My most severe pain is actually in my sacroiliac joint & the muscles & ligaments around the joint. It's specifically for nerve damage from spinal cord injuries (I have a herniated disc & either pinched or entrapped sacral nerves).

Since my flight from Hawaii to Portland for my surgery I've been having stabbing pain in my SI joint as well as spasms in my… read more

My Hubby Is On "diet Will Fix Endo" Kick And I Know It Won't Cure It But Does It Help?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Will diet help stage 4 endo as I really do not want the hysterectomy and as I can't have hormones I've been told that it's my only real option, I'm 36.

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

I have just started - 10 days now (and Visanne) and I feel like a new person. I don't know if it is the diet or the pills. It's worth a try! When you initially look at the diet, you may thing, what… read more
