Depo Provera And Elagolix Tips?

I'm about to start the Depo shot and elagolix when my insurance approved it. How did you guys react to it? What side effects did you have? Anything I should know beforehand? This is the first time I've had a doctor actually try to do something. Also getting a laparoscopy in a few months.

How have you faired using the mirena despite having had bad experiences with oral contraceptive pills and visanne. Also post laparoscopy placement?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

If I were you, I'd start with Provera (progesterone only) pills. It's the closest pill to the Mirena. If you react to the pill you can stop it immediately, and if you find that it suits you then the Mread more

Depo Shot And Endometriosis

Depo Shot And Endometriosis

I've been on the depo provera shot for a year and a half. The first year I had no issues and now I'm in so much pain in my pelvis and hips, and have severe low back pain. Dr said I had a UTI but took antibiotics and I still have cloudy urine, pain going up my back and in my lower abdomen. Never had pain peeing or burning. Has anyone experienced any of this?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

It's been seven years and I'm still not back down to my size I was before depo.

Depo Provera And Periods

Depo Provera And Periods

Hi everyone,

So I just got off my Depo Provera about 2 weeks ago and I noticed I’m started to actually bleed again (spotting.) Is this normal? Anyone who has been on Depo, how long did it take for you to start a period again?
I’m a little excited (not for the pain!) just because I’m wondering if my body is just acting fast and I could essentially be ovulating? TTC :)

Hi,Can Anyone Tell Me About Visanne?

My gyno perscribed this for my endometriosis but after doing some research it seems intense.
What are some of the side effects?

Is Depo Provera Better Than Visanne? Like In Terms Of Effectiveness And Side Effects?

Is Depo Provera Better Than Visanne? Like In Terms Of Effectiveness And Side Effects?

Visanne has been effective on me in terms of stopping my period and I don’t experience the excruciating pain anymore. In terms of side efffects, I get tired easily and I get occasional mild headaches. I told my doctor about a concern on the cost of visanne and that it is not covered by my insurance. She actually told me that it is okay to stop taking visanne and that I can shift to depo provera since my recent blood and hormones tests all came normal.

I took visanne for 7months. I’ve been off… read more

I think Visanne is better than Provera. At least, it won't cause you bone loss later on. Take Calcium as supplement and B Complex with Zinc.

Visanne is not meant for me. I took Visanne for 3… read more
