Have to wait at least 4 months for my next laparoscopy. I have stage 3 endo and normally luckily only suffer for 2 weeks before, during and after period. My last laparoscopy will be 2 years ago. I have been having increasing amounts of pain this side of the year and since my last period over a week ago (lasting 2 days) I am in constant pain and brown spotting. Can anyone recommend anything other than co-codamol and naproxen cocktail? Really upset and can not bear the thought to be in this much… read more

This happens to me too :( it is so difficult to describe and even more excruciating to experience. I rely heavily on my heating pad, ibuprofen, lavender oils, and loose pants. Unfortunately, no doctor… read more
I know if varies for each person, but how long did you take pain medications and how long was your recovery after excision surgery? I have an excision surgery and cystectomy coming up soon, and I am getting nervous about the amount of pain meds and recovery that may be involved. Is it worth it?
I was having issues with my endo. I was diagnosed later in life, but diet and supplements have reduced my period pain and other symptoms a lot. Main issue is that I still have severe gas pain during my… read more
Has anyone else gotten digestion pain where incisions are? Also after peeing right in the morning, I have stabbing pain on my right side. I’m 4 weeks post-op
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member thank you!!
So I have tried the combined pill and the mini pill for endometriosis management. Both did not help with my pain at all and I had HORRIBLE emotional side effects so I got off of it. Getting a laparoscopy soon, is it worth trying an IUD? I’m scared of the emotional side effects but my doctor has said they are less severe with IUD vs oral contraceptives.
I have just taken the Depo shot 4 weeks ago and the pain has gotten worse. I’ve had to call out of work more frequently and no Tylenol or Ibuprofen is helping. Every day I am in pain it’s when I can’t stand or walk is when I have to call out from work. Is this normal? I told my OBYGN I wanted to do the Endo surgery but she wanted me to try this as a last resort.
I have doctors that keep wanting to prescribe me muscle relaxers and ibuprofen and it’s honestly insulting. IDK what to ask for, but I know it has to be something stronger than Advil and Aleve out there. I’m in unbearable pain every month it affects work, hobbies, etc. I just want a quality of life that doesn’t involve being in pain all the time.
Omg same! My doctor tried prescribing me anxiety meds and muscle relaxers. Thanks but no thanks! I rather not live like a zombie.
I was diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis. Doc did laproscopy and inserted Mirena two months ago. Ever since I am bleeding and cramping. I have worst pelvic pain almost daily. I take ibuprofen on daily basis. Is it normal to have this cramping and period pain after Mirena?
Oh, thats bad! I am not sure about endometriosis induced IBS. No doctor ever told me that, but it might be the cause. And I don't have a specific time for pelvic pain but it usually starts in the… read more
Dear Endo Team
I had my long-awaited Laparoscopy surgery after suffering Stage IV Deep Infiltrating Endo that developed undiagnosed for 20 years. The surgeon said it was 'unbelievable' how much disease they had to excise. :-S
I think I'm recovering okay at this moment, however, am nervous about this so often remarked upon 'first period after surgery' pain.
Is it maskable by NSAIDS? If I just gauge Aleve, will I survive this? I'm supposed to be going on a little road trip up to a cabin in the… read more
