Was Anyone Able To Conceive After A Laparotomy??

Was Anyone Able To Conceive After A Laparotomy??

Ok, so my surgery date is coming up fast and I just have a few questions. My first question being, how long will it take me to really recover after a laparotomy? Has anyone else had minimal or no pain at all since a laparotomy? Also, was anyone else not able to get pregnant after a laparoscopy, but finally able to conceive after a laparotomy? Please I'd really appreciate some answers.

Has Anyone Had A Cesarean Hysterotomy?

I am currently pregnant and considering this option in hopes that a hysterotomy will solve my pain. Any pros/cons or information is helpful!

My Surgeon Doesn't Think I Need A Bowel Prep - Should I Do One Anyway??

My Surgeon Doesn't Think I Need A Bowel Prep - Should I Do One Anyway??

I thought that all Endometriosis experts had patients do bowel preps before excision surgery, just in case they need to perform surgery on the bowels. But my endo expert says that based on my MRI he doesn't think that I have bowel involvement, since I have a layer of fat between my vagina/uterus & my rectum/small bowel.

He doesn't anticipate needing to do surgery on the bowels or rectum so isn't having me do a bowel prep. But this makes me… read more

Does Anyone's Laparotomy Or Laparoscopy Scars Occasionally Sharply Throb Months After The Procedure?

My laparotomy was December 2nd and this past month I've been getting little episodes of little sharp jabs. They'll stop for hours and randomly return.

What Else Should I Bring For Surgery?

What Else Should I Bring For Surgery?

Here's a list of items for my surgery next week, & recovery. Am I missing anything? I'm having a thorough excision of endo + myomectomy of fibroids. There's a chance that I may need to stay in the hospital for 1-2 nights, depending on blood loss level from myomectomy (hopefully not!). Here's a list of everything I have so far:

1. Warm, loose fitting, comfy clothes, lounge pants with elastic waists

2. Slip on, orthopedic slippers

3. Leak proof period panties, since I'm… read more

Was Anyone Diagnosed With Endo After Having A Cyst Removed And Are They Connected?

Was Anyone Diagnosed With Endo After Having A Cyst Removed And Are They Connected?

I've always had a lot of pain around my period (since I was 11) but was told that it was normal for a woman to be in pain and that I probably just felt more pain than others. Now on the 8th March I will be having a laparotomy to remove a 10cm cyst on my left ovary. I have been told that my ovary will also have to be removed as it looks as if the cyst has completely destroyed it. It turns out that this cyst has probably been growing… read more
