Surgery And IUD
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am having surgery to remove the scar tissue and while I am asleep, they want to put an IUD in as well. I am super nervous about the IUD and want to know if there are side effects, and if the IUD is a good route to go.

I Have The Most Severe Pain At Night To The Point I Can't Sleep And Nothing Helps. Is This Common?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was recently taken off the depo shot 6 months ago and put on a birth control that you take blue pills 3 months straight and the sugar pills for one week at the end of the cycle. Not sure if I should go back to the doctor and discuss different treatment or not because last time I went, my doctor told me surgery would be the other option. I am trying not to go that route, but the pain gets almost unbearable.

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had my 1st laparoscopy and Mirena coil insertion 3 weeks ago, but bleeding (not spotting) has continued and I'm wondering when it stops?? Im also taking microgynon for the past two months. Also the morning pain flare ups are quite the nuisance. not sure if all this is normal or part of the normal recovery?

Has Anyone Tried Mirena And Not Felt Any Relief? It's Been A Few Months And I Don't Think It's Working For Me.
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone tried Mirena and not felt any relief? It's been a few months and I feel very little, if any, relief and my loss of appetite and nausea is spiraling out on top of the pain! I recently had a baby (in January) so not sure if it's all dramatically worse from that or if the Mirena is really just not working for me?

Has Anyone Found Relief From Having Their Mirena Coil Removed?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am due to have my Mirena Coil removed on the next Monday coming, and was wondering if anyone had found they had symptom relief from having it removed? Or did it make things worse? My thought is that if I have it removed and I become hormone free will it stop my pains getting worse etc...

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

I got horrible cysts from the merena and I felt so much better about 2 menstral cycles after I had it removed! (Still endo pain, but the cyst pain gone)

Side Effects Of The Mirena?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My gynaecologist has advised me that my endo is stage 4 with significant growth infiltrating my bowel. She has told me that she does not think surgery is a good idea as they will need to also remove part of my bowel. She has advised that at current the Mirena is my only viable treatment option
I am horrified as hormonal birth control has always wreaked havoc on my body (weight gain, mood swings, depression)
I’ve never tried the Mirena but I’m terrified of the side effects.
I had the copper… read more

I'd inquire about referral to a GI specialist and ask that GYNE and GI collaborate on your case to find you a workable solution.

Lupron Depot
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey, have any of you been on the Lupron Depot injections? Curious to know how it went. Had a Hysterectomy about 3 weeks ago. I was told that endo was everywhere and it had all been removed only a few months prior, because of that the doctor's that did the surgery are really pushing medications to try to slow it from coming back. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
