I was on orilissa which worked great for me but my doctor made me stop taking after 2 years due to long term health concern and side effects seen in the drug trials. We decide to try norethindrone and i have been on it a month and i might stop taking it. I know with new hormones there a usally a 3 month ajustment period. Ive been on several different ones. About a week of taking this one and so on the cramps got worse, got more instense, more often, i got terrible headache more often, tired all… read more
I've been on both. My endo is bad enough that my Dr was willing to sign off on me being a lifer so I could exceed the two year deadline but then I lost insurance and so I lost being on it. I am… read more
I have had two pregnancy loses and pelvic/ back pain that has increased significantly in the past year. Last week I saw a fertility specialist who did an ultrasound and found a cyst on my right ovary, with endometriosis. My doctor put me on 10mg of letrozole and 5mg of Norethindrone daily, for 3 months. He is suggesting this instead of a laproscopy because I am hoping to try and get pregnant after these 3 months are over. I finally got my insurance to approve it and will be starting it today… read more
Wonderful news! I wish my pain will go away. I'm still having pains & it's been over a month since I've been back on the Letrozole. My specialist dr hasn't done anything about the norethindrone yet… read more
I was diagnosed with endo TODAY... I've had the Nexplanon implant since I was 16 (I'm now 21) - I've had it replaced twice. And with my first one, I thought I loved it because I had no periods. But what I've noticed since I've had the implant, was that I had consistent pain with sex (which I did not have before), and terrible cramping. Last year, I started having periods again - bad enough that I bled through 3 pairs of pants in one day (with pantiliners and a tampon). My doctor finally, after… read more
I am taking also Norethindrone since oct 2020! At the beginning it helped a lot, I didn’t have pain. Unfortunately, in February the pain came back and it’s intense
Hi! I have been taking the Norethindrone for 16 years. It stopped most of all the pain but you may feel pain every now and then. I still felt nauseous at times while on it. I started taking the… read more

I still get pain but the birth control stopped the bleeding
The doctors prescribed me visanne, before then i was on a normal birth control, but had irregular periods. Im currently only 3 weeks on visanne but since then im in more pain then i was before. It’s constantly this sharp shocking pain and feels like everything inside of me is hanging by a string. I thought visanne is suppose to help with the pain, so just wanted to know if it is normal to experience this much pain or should I follow up with my gynie.
I’ve been on visanne for many yrs I never had any pain when I went on it.
I started this medication almost a month ago. I’ve been having some problems at work and it’s causing me to get upset. When I used to get upset I just had to let myself calm down. But I got so angry the other day I threw my phone at the wall. I have taken orlissa before and it made my emotions BAD, and I’m wondering if this medication is doing the same. So any experience with it I’d love to hear it.
Thank you, yes I’m on 5mg. I took orlissa a few years back and it was awful. I just don’t really know if this emotional stuff is due to things that have been going on or if the medication is just… read more
So I have suspected endometriosis, gynae is pretty convinced although I need a laproscopy to validate this. I was put on Decapeptyl for this and PMDD but it was like hell on earth. I wasn't informed that chemical menopause and HRT isn't great if you have a predisposition to Osteopenia/Osteoarthritis etc which I do. So I took the decision not to take a second Decapeptyl 3mg and to raw dog it with supplements and exercise. Problem is it's now been 2 weeks, I have the worst hot flashes I've ever… read more
I was recently given Norethindrone tablets for my endometriosis. I am experiencing stomach issues with it. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!
Yes but I already had stomach problems before taking that medication and it made my stomach problems worse. It didn't help with endometriosis or help stop me from bleeding so the next step for me was… read more
