Norethindrone and nausea

Norethindrone and nausea

I started Norethindrone about 4 weeks ago and I'm having severe nausea (I've vomited once) and acid reflux. I'm wondering if anyone else had these side effects and if they either a) went away eventually or b) found a way to reduce the nausea.

This is my 7th or so attempt at hormonally treatments for my endometriosis and I really want it to work out, but I'm so nauseated. I've had to quit all the others I've tried because the side effects were too great.

Looking for help/recommendations

Looking for help/recommendations

I got diagnosed 2.5 years ago with a laparoscopy and was on depo provera for 2 years, then norlyda, then a combination birth control, now a different form of norethindrone for about two weeks. Also take Letrozole consistently for a month and a half. I have had pain since my initial surgery but it’s grown steadily worse. It’s eapecially concentrated on my left ovary now. Anyone have any treatment suggestions or had a chocolate cyst? I think it could be that.

Unsuccessful Surgery

Unsuccessful Surgery

I've been in chronic pain for 1 year and 10 months. It started on the left side of my pelvis and had spread to sometimes include my chest. I have had pain during and after sex; painful bowel movements and gas; pain in my back, hips, legs, and ribs; and before I was on my previous hormone treatment, had shortness of breath and felt like there was a band around my rib cage. Met with my GYN for post op appointment yesterday, and she said she didn't find any endometriosis. Before surgery, she… read more

Struggling to find the right treatment

Struggling to find the right treatment

Hello everyone!
I'm new to this site and happy to be able to hear everyone's stories. I was diagnosed based on symptoms for Endometriosis about ten years ago. I've been on Norethindrone for 7 years and for the most part have had good luck. I have a hard time losing weight with it but no other prominent side effects. The only issue is breakthrough bleeding/periods. It used to occur only if I didn't take the pill at the EXACT same time each day (which is so hard to remember)… read more

Synarel (plus HADT) Long Term

Synarel (plus HADT) Long Term

Hey All! I just joined after I found you while working on a paper. I recently discovered that Synarel hasn't really been tested long-term (or rather for longer than a year-long period). I do take norethindrone as an Add-Back Therapy but I am wondering if any of Y'all's experience or resources could tell me anything. I have already been on Synarel plus add-back for a year and I think I either have Stage III or Stage IV. I think I may be worrying too much because this has been the best… read more

Is it okay to take Visanne while you have the Mirena IUD?

Is it okay to take Visanne while you have the Mirena IUD?

Hi Ladies. PLEASE HELP! I recently moved to South Korea (from America) and went to a specialist for the first time today. He recommended I start taking Visanne. I really didn't want to take any new meds, as I already have tried Lupron, Femara (usually used for breast cancer), just norethindrone, and some other bc pills.I already had 2 excision surgeries. I also currently have the Mirena IUD. I don't want to try a new treatment but he kept telling me how… read more

birth control with endo

birth control with endo

Hey everyone,
I was diagnosed with endo in Sep of 2018 after I had laparoscopic surgery due to years of pain. I have been on so many different combination birth control pills because my gyno's first instinct each time I came back due to pain, was to switch my BC rather than looking further into the problem.

So after the laparoscopy he immediately took me off combination pills and I am now on a progesterone only pill (Norethindrone) and it has caused me to break out like crazy. Before this… read more

Did Lupron and add back therapy cause you to be exhausted all the time?

Did Lupron and add back therapy cause you to be exhausted all the time?

I am on my 2nd month of Lupron. I am taking norethindrone as my add back. I had the most disgusting night sweats, like changing the sheets every day, changing clothes in the middle of the night every night, my husband couldn't sleep in the bed it was so wet. The docfor put me on Prozac because some antidepressants are also good for night sweats and not flashes. The Prozac made me act very strange, so we switched to Zoloft. Mg question is,… read more

Has anyone had severe cramps within days of starting Norethindrone

Has anyone had severe cramps within days of starting Norethindrone

12 days post first lap where I had extensive disease removed. I started norethindrone 4 days ago and I have been having severe cramping. My surgeon thought maybe I’m constipated from surgery so I’m doing a bowel cleanse and it is not improving my pain. Has anyone suffered such severe cramps within days of starting norethindrone? If so, did the cramping ever pass? I want to give this new med a try as no other forms of the pill have worked for me.… read more

Does anyone have experience with a doctor not wanting to perform a laparascopy or has had endometriosis removed from their liver?

Does anyone have experience with a doctor not wanting to perform a laparascopy or has had endometriosis removed from their liver?

I am feeling a bit lost as I am feeling discouraged explaining my weird phantom pains to so many doctors with no diagnosis. Does anyone have experience with a doctor not wanting to perform a laparascopy or has had endometriosis removed from their organs like their liver?

I have been told I probably have endo but have not had a laparascopy. I used to have really bad periods that the… read more
