Hello everyone, my obgyn is suggesting I try taking Orilissa to help with endometriosis pain, and that it will shrink the lesions. Is this true? I’ve read it helps with pain but I’ve never heard anything about it possible shrinking or curing endo at all. She wants to avoid a 10th surgery but I’ve tried every other BC method available and nothing has helped except ablation, my last surgery was in 2015. Should I try this pill out or push for surgery?
I hear allot about these drugs and have heard that the side effects are horrible. I recently had larascopy and the next step is likely going to bc e one of these meds. Why are the side effects so bad? I looked at the side effects listed and most of them seem to consider eith menopause pause due to the way the meds work but are there other effects to be weary of?
I have my post-lap exam on Thursday and I think my doctor plans to prescribe me Orlissa. I've heard Orlissa works by regulating hormones, therefore it won't work as well if you are also on hormonal birth control (which I am). I suspect I will be taken off the bc pill and put on Orlissa for ~6 months ---but what do I do for birth control for 6 months?
It’s like my pelvic pain is starting to become unbearable and no anti-inflammatory drug is helping. I’ve tried ketorolac, Diflunisal, tramadol, orilissa, I’ve now got the iud but I feel like it’s just getting worse. .
I skipped a day of medication and today I tried taking half of the pill. I didn’t need to take a nap today. This medication makes me so exhausted. Has anyone else done this on the lower dose 150?
I’m on my second month of Orilissa and it has been quite a short ride. I have lost ten pounds since starting Orillissa because my anxiety has been so bad that I have trouble eating.
Do I just start taking my bc in place or Orillissa dose?
I have adenomyosis in addition to endometriosis. My doctor is recommending that I try Orilissa at the same time as the Mirena IUD to treat both conditions. Has anyone heard of doing this? I am not seeing it mentioned online. Thanks!
A little over a month ago, I underwent laparoscopic surgery to remove a cyst the size of a grapefruit from my left ovary. During that surgery, I was definitively diagnosed with severe endometrosis, and my doctor removed a number of endometriotic lesions.
Prior to having this surgery, I was having severe pain when I ovulated. Excruciating pain that lasted hours, sometimes days, which affected my ability to attend work. My… read more
Thanks in advance!
My doctor told me I may still get a period on this medication, and that it may stop helping the pain after a few months. has anyone had this experience on Lupron or anything? I just finished my first month of the medication, and I do see a difference, but I have not had a period yet. Not sure if my period will be livable on this medication either.
At this point, this is my last option before keyhole surgery, then trying to have kids, and then a hysterectomy.
