Pain Management After Surgery
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm wondering how soon is it okay to use a heating pad after surgery?

Also, I have 10mg Percocet, but my pain is not going down. It's really bad. It's not the shoulder pain, but my belly button, stomach and vagina area. Any thing help people get the pain manageable after surgery?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Having an endo flare up, but pain meds are not working like they usually do. I only take percocet when i absoluelty have to which is about once a month. I have the lowest dosage and perscribe to take 1-2 pills every 4-6 hours. Mu question is, can i take another pill if it has been 3 hours? Can i take a half? I am counting down this last hour to when i can take another pill as perscribed but its killing me

Maybe talk to dr about opiates(they are not the devil everyone would have you believe) and/or Belbuca strips you put inside your cheek. Excellent pain relief from Belbuca.

A Couple Questions About A Laparoscopy...
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Talked to a surgeon yesterday and he is gonna try and get me on the schedule. *crosses fingers that it is soon* How long do laps normally take? Is it just to look around and diagnose, or do they remove the built up tissue during it? How long are you in the hospital after? What is recovery like?

I’m 7 days post op on my first ovarian cyctecomy lap. I was told during recovery that it’s necessary for me to have a second lap to remove a cyst on my bowel that never showed up with transvag… read more

What Can I Expect From A Pain Management Center As Opposed To An OB/GYN?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My OB/GYN has been providing me with a script for Percocet to help manage my pain for a year & a 1/2. I consider myself to be a responsible user. He is retiring & not renewing his license to prescribe narcotics. Next week I have an appointment with a pain management center. What can I expect from my new Dr? I definitely have a physical dependency on the Percocet but it is the only way I find relief. I've tried anti inflammatories & multiple NSAIDS. Nothing works as well as the Percs.

Unfortunately for me; one of the o ly things to help is Dilaudid. Which is a narcotic. I hate using it but sometimes its all that works. I ran out a few days ago and was prescribed Gabapentin instead… read more

Disability For Endo In Canada?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I searched and saw that a few people have asked about disability but it's not clear where they're from. I'm wondering if anyone here is from Canada and has had any experience with applying for any kind of disability for their endo? I am very lucky to be able to work for my mom so the job is flexible and I do have work, but I'm not able to work even close to full time and it feels so unfair that my medical conditions limit me in such a significant way. It SEEMS to me that this is exactly what… read more

Have we heard anything since? This condition makes me take so much time off work... Percocet shouldn't be the answer... I shouldn't have to pump myself full of prescription medication just to make it… read more
